Brita was the daughter of Kristiern Vasa, cabinet minister and in charge of Kalmar Castle, and Dordi Eriksdotter Banér.
She married the master of coin, Didrik Myntmästare and they had a daughter, [Didriksdotter-8|Elisabet Didriksdotter]], together. He died in 1527 and she married Mats Persson Upplänning. Didrik was not of a noble family which meant that Brita lost all her privileges. She regained those in her second marriage.
In 1536 she was once again a widow and she bought an estate in Uppland from her cousin, king Gustav I Vasa.
Brita died after 1566.
Inherited together with her sister Märta Örbyhus from their father. They later sold it to their cousin king Gustav I Vasa.
