Benjamin H. Critchfield was born 20 August 1851 in Perry County, Indiana, the son of Alfred Critchfield and Anna Kitterman. He was enumerated with Alfred's household in 1860.^[1] Benjamin married Sarah “Sallie” Berkshire. He died 11 June 1915 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lawrence County.^[2]
