Estle Crockett was born on 23 August 1918 in Ivanhoe, Wythe County, Virginia. His parents were David McTeer Crockett and Bessie Almeda (Holloway) Crockett.[1]
Note: Estle's first census record, at age 11 months, shows his birth in West Virginia, where his father had gone to work in the coal industry. Estle's delayed birth certificate shows his birth in Ivanhoe, Wythe County, Virginia, where the family primarily lived, and where his father, David, was born. The birth certificate references a family Bible entry for Estle's birth date, but does not give a location. It is likely Estle was actually born during the brief time the family relocated to West Virginia from Wythe County, as reflected on the census, but using information found on delayed birth certificate for this profile.
In the 1920 census, Estal (age 11 months), was recorded as the son of David Crokett in McDowell, West Virginia, United States.[2]
In the 1930 census, Estle (age 10), was recorded as the son of David I Crockett in Lead Mines District, Wythe, Virginia, United States.[3]
In the 1940 census, Estell (age 22), was recorded as the single son of David Crockett in Lead Mines District, Wythe, Virginia, United States.[4]
Estle (age 21), married Guida Woods (age 21), the daughter of Richard Woods and Janie (Martin) Woods, on 13 July 1940 in Galax, Virginia, United States.[5]
In the 1950 census, Estle (age 31), National Carbide, was recorded as the married head of household in Lead Mines, Wythe, Virginia, United States.[6]
At the time of his death, Estle's occupation was recorded as grounds maintenance at the Army ammunition plant.
Estle died (age 71) on 29 September 1989 in Wythe, Virginia, United States.[7]
