Biography
William Jones Cronkhite was born July , 1799, a son of William Cronkhite (aka Cranckheyt) and Jean/Jane Jones. William Jones Cronkhite was a Blacksmith who was married twice. His first marriage to Sarah Tuttle and they had nine children. His second marriage was to Mary Barrett and they had six children together.
Family history indicates that William Jones Cronkhite was buried in the Lazier-Cronk Cemetery at Sophiasburg, Prince Edward County. The Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid indicates a name "CRONKRITE, William J." at this cemetery, so there should be a headstone that can be photographed, although it may be hard to read. [1]
