Biography

Rebecca Cunningham, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Cunningham, was born January 3, 1803 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania.[1]

John Dysart was married to Rebecca Cunningham, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Cunningham, on Feb. 5, 1829, in Wayne Township, Newton-Hamilton, PA, by Rev. James Woods.[2][3] They had seven children: Elizabeth who married Arthur H. Clark; Mary who married Samuel B. McCord; William who died in youth; Hannah who died at an early age; Margaret J. who married James N. Postlethwait; James Alexander; and Jonathan.[4]

The 1850 U.S. Federal Census records Elizabeth Dysart, age 19 born in PA, living with her mother Rebecca and siblings in Wayne Township, Mifflin Co., Pennsylvania.[5]

The 1860 U.S. Federal Census records Elizabeth Clark, age 30 born in PA, living with her mother "Rebecca Dysart" in Wayne Township, Mifflin Co., PA. In the household are her siblings: Margaret age 25 and James age 22.[6]

The 1870 U.S. Federal records Rebecca Dysart, age 67 born in PA, living with her son James age 32 and his daughter Annie E. age 3 in Wayne Township, Mifflin Co., Pennsylvania.[7]

The 1880 U.S. Federal Census records Rebecca Dysart, age 77 born in PA, living with her son James age 42 and his daughter Anna age 12 in District 179, Wayne Township, Mifflin Co., Pennsylvania.[8]
