Poll was born in 1905. He is the son of Edward Currie and Mary Pratt. [1]
A victim of the 1923 Ongarue Railway Accident. He died after the accident of shock due to a fractured skull. Poll was employed as a brass finisher and his mother relied on he and his brother George to provide financial support.[2] Poll was a well known boxer and he and Tommy Collins (who was injured) were on their way to take part in a boxing bout at Taumarunui. [3]
Polls body was identified by his brother Herbert Garfield Currie, and was interred at Waikumete cemetery 10th July 1923 His mother was interred with him in 1937. [4]
