From 1856 to 1858, he fought in the Indian War as Florida Mounted Volunteer. [2]
His mother died around 1858. The family relocated further south. In the 1860 census Aaron (age 21) was in Enterprise, FL. He lived alone and worked as a farmer. His father lives nearby with his new wife and baby. [3]
