Place of birth listed on Census of 1851, 1861, 1871 as Upper Canada. Death certificate and letter written by nephew Harrison H. Curtis lists place of birth as USA

Resided at Concession 8, Lot 20 in Haldimand Township, as per the 1851 Canada agricultural census. Later resided in Alnwick Township as per 1871 census and this 1870 index of pioneer settlers of the township: [1]
