Biography

Oscar A. Curtis was born at Addison, Maine, 5 Jan 1841, the son of John Curtis and Sarah Young McCaleb; ^[1] died of apoplexy at Addison, 24 Sep 1897, aged 56y 8m 20d, ^[2] and is buried there in the Church Hill Cemetery. ^{[3] [4]}

He married in New Hampshire, about 1860 (if bride was 18 at time of marriage), Mary Elizabeth Bean, ^[1] born at Corinna, Maine, 18 Apr 1842, the daughter of Henry W. Bean and Eliza K. (_____); ^[1] died at Jonesport, Maine, 21 Feb 1928, aged 85y. ^[1] She married, (2) 18 Aug 1899, her husband's cousin, Andrew A. McCaleb, as his third wife, but they divorced before Jun 1900. ^[1]
