Biography

Earl Edward Darling was born on the 21st of April 1897[1] in Swanton Township, Lucas County, Ohio. He was the son of John Darling and Mary Flemens.[2] At age 3 (1900), he was inhis parent's home in Swanton, Lucas County, Ohio, along with his siblings, Glen-10, and Mabel-7.[3] They were living in Monclova, Lucas County, Ohio when he was 13, (1910). [4]

Edward Darling and Mary Ullman were married on the 2nd of December 1914 in Holmes County, Ohio. [5] They had one child.

  1. Lucille Darling (1816-2006)

He elistied in the army in WWI, on December 17, 1918, in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.[6][7]

Earl and Mary lived in Green, Ashland County, Ohio in 1920, where he worked as a Truck Driver for a Lumber Yard, while she kept the home and took care their daughter, Lucille-3.[8]

He and Mary Divorced.[9]

He married Frances Martha Foss, the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (Ocheski) Foss, on August 25, 1920, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.[10] They had one child.

  1. kathleen 'Dorothy' Darling (1922-1992)[11] m. William F Curylo, 1942.

They lived in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, where in 1930, he was working as a Mechanic for a Body repair Shop, and Frances was taking care of the home, their daughter, Dorothy-8, and keeping a Boarder.[11] They were living on 49th Street in 1940, with Dorothy still in the home.[12]

He and Francis Divorced.[9]

He Married Mrs. Peggy Agnes (Casterline) Sherlock on July 19, 1946, in Summit County, Ohio.[9]

He died on April 23, 1968, at the age of 71, in Dade County, Florida,[13] and was buried in the Southern Memorial Park Cemetery in North Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida.[1]
