Jack Datson is a part of US Black heritage.

Jack was born in 1912 in Norwood, San Augustine, Texas. He was the son of Jack Dotson Sr. and Rena Tucker. From the records his family went from Texas to Oklahoma and then back again to Texas.

He was enrolled in school at the ages of 8 and 9 there in Goodland, Choctaw County, Oklahoma. His two sisters Lucile and Josephine also were registered for school in 1925.
