Biography
Philip was born about 1824 in Pontesbury, Shropshire, England. He was the son of William Davies, a skinner.[1] In 1841 Philip lived at Pontesford Hill.[2]
In 1846 Philip married Elizabeth Sherry in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.[1][3] The family lived at Pontesford Hill, where Philip worked as a coalminer.[4][5][6][7] By 1891 he worked as a grocer's porter.[8]
Philip died in 1900 at the age of 75.[9]
