Margaret Davis married Charles Blakely and was the mother of eleven children. Charles appears as a taxpayer in Botecourt county, Virginia in 1770. During the early 1770's, Botecourt County covered most of the Upper Shenandoah Valley and the Virginia Panhandle. The location specified by the tax collector was at the headwaters of the Middle Holston River near the present town of Marion in Smyth county. By 1794, Charles Blackely appears in Knox county, Tennessee, where on September 7th, he purchased 246 acres of land from Joseph Karns. [1] Children of Margaret and Charles are:
