Biography

- Sarah was the second child of Henry and Ruth (unknown) Davis. She was one of their first eight children born in Frederick County, Virginia.

- Ca 1789 Sarah married Peter Bodenhamer in Rowan County, North Carolina.

- 4 May 1801 a land transfer from Henry Davis to daughter Margaret (Davis) Pegg mentions Sarah Bodenhamer. "Henry Davis of Stokes County, North Carolina to his daughter Margaret, wife of John Pegg, for good will and affection. 150 acres on head forks of Buck Branch of Abbotts Creek adjoining Stokes County line, Sarah Bodenhamer, Nompler and Motsinger. Witnesses: William Welborn and Joshua Welborn. (note: Does the fact that only Sarah is named mean that Peter Bodenhamer is deceased at this time?)

- Will of Sarah's father, Henry Davis, probated March 1805 leaves equal shares with his own children to granddaughter Sarah Bodenhamer. (note: Were Peter and Sarah both deceased at this time?)
