William was born in 1852. He was the son of William Dawe and Isabel Mowlem. He passed away in 1913. [1]

William Alfred had a twin brother Alfred William. It seems thet even though very close they had very different personalities.
William was more outgoing than his brother. He helped organized the Union of British miners and eventually became a mine manager himself.
He married Elizabeth Rowe. They had a long life and many children together
Familly legend says that William inherited a silver plate that was gifted to his father for his work in the mines. His brother Alfred had ihnerited through his wife a sword that belonged to Santa Ana. Alfred loved the silver plate and his connection with his family as much as William loved the symbol of the sword.
Upon Alfred's illness the brothers decided to trade family heirlooms. Thus the descendants of William came in possetion of Santa Anna's sword (Now in el Alamo museum) William went to Mexico city to help take care of his brother and to mourn his death he and his family went to Falmouth, England
William continued living between Mexico and England, with his oldest children living in the first and the youngest in the latter. He died in Trevethan house, the family home in 1913
