Biography

Elijah Wade Dawson, Jr. was born about 1820 in Kentucky. He was the son of Elijah Wade Dawson, Sr. and Sarah "Sally" Logan.

Elijah Wade Dawson, Jr. wrote his will on June 24, 1882, in which he left all property real and personal to his wife Martha Jane Bosley. to his Son James T. Dawson one- third thereof. To his Son John W. Dawson one-third thereof. And his said grandchildren Carry Wolf and Dorsey R. Wolf one-sixth each. To his daughter Susan Dawson the sum of five dollars.

Elijah Wade Dawson, Jr. died on June 4, 1890 in Johnson County, Missouri at 70 years, 9 months and 23 days. He was buried in Roop Cemetery in Warrensburg, Johnson County, Missouri. His will was probated on July 12, 1890.

Capt. E.W. Dawson

Farmer & stock raiser, P.O. Warrensburg; born in Lincoln County, Kentucky, August 11, 1819. His father, Elijah Dawson, was a native of Virginia, having emigrated to Kentucky in a very early day. His mother was a native of Kentucky, and was a woman of remarkable ability. Her maiden name was Sallie Logan. In 1854, Mr. Dawson came to Missouri and in 1846 returned and married Martha J. Bosley, daughter of a prominent farmer. With his young bride he came to Missouri and settled in the beautiful valley about 5 miles east of Warrensburg. He now owns several farms, which he conducts with intelligence and success. The family consists of 4 children: Kittie A., J.T., John W. and Susie K. Captain Dawson delights in the case, and now as well as in former days, the pursuit of wild game with dog and gun frequently claims his attention. His hospitality and kind treatment of strangers is proverbial.
