Biography

Born

Margaret was christened 31 Oct 1812, at the Wesleyan, Gunnerside,^[1] which was located 2 miles further up the Swaledale valley than Low Row, where her future husband Thomas was christened into the same denomination the following year.

Her parents were Joseph and Elizth. Daykin. Based only on their names, there’s a marriage record dated 30 May 1803 which probably identifies her parents as Joseph Daykin and Elizabeth Thompson, married at Arkengarth-Dale.

Marriage

Margaret married Thomas Raw on 10 Dec 1834 at Shildon St. John, Co. Durham.^[2][3]

All three of her children were born in Shildon. By 1841, they were living in Market Place Shildon.^[4]

Died

Sadly, Margaret died of jaundice on 13 Nov 1842 at Sunny Dale, Shildon. She was only 29 or 30 years old.^[5]
