Biography

Jose Garcia DeLeon was baptized on 7 Jul 1916 in Asherton, Texas. His birth date was recorded as 27 Sep 1912 in San Antonio. His parents were Jose de Leon & Bibiana (sic) Garcia. Godparents were Aurelio Navarro & Elena Vasquez. His brother Ernesto DeLeon was baptized the following day. Both records have a comment of "Ortus Illegitimus", with means illegitimate birth. Their parents may not have been married at the time of their births.

In 1940 his draft card listed his birth date as 13 Sep 1912 in San Antonio, Texas. His next of kin was Mrs. Viviana Garcia DeLeon, his mother. They were both living in Carrizo Springs, Texas and Jose was employed by Elmo L. O'Meara. He was listed as 6'1" and 165 lbs with brown eyes, black hair, and a light brown complexion. He was noted to have a scar on his right cheek.

He died on 26 Apr 1993 in Texas.
