Biography
James De Priest is a part of US Black heritage.
James De Priest was born in 1845 in Alabama. He was the son of Sidney De Priest and Narcissa De Priest. In 1870 he was living with his parents and siblings in Rogersville, Alabama.[1]
He married Alice Wilson on 4 October 1887 in Eskridge, Kansas.[2]
In 1900 he was living alone with his mother in Salina.[3]
He married Mabel Boswell (nee Finch) on 27 June 1901 in Salina, Kansas.[4]
In 1905 James and Mabel were living with their young son James Crawford, James's mother Fannie, and Mabel's 10-year-old daughter.[5] Between 1915 and 1920 Fannie De Priest is no longer in their household[6] but she is again with them in 1925.[7]
In 1940 James and Mabel De Priest were still living in Salina.[8]
