He married Elsie Margaret Clezy in 1916 and they had a daughter, Helen Clezy Deane, born in 1920.
Allan or Allen died in 1925. An obituary said:
DEANE.—On the 20th November, at Crystal Brook, Allen Charles, beloved husband of Elsie M. Deane, and eldest son of the late Inspector Deane and Elizabeth Deane, 28 Oxford terrace, Unley. [1]
Peter Steele Clezy in his book The Old Partnership wrote that;
"Elsie Clezy married Allen Deane who for some time was Staton Master at Wolseley [South Australia] which is south east of Adelaide and due north of Mount Gambier, and very near the Victorian border.
"Allen died at the end of 1925 after suffering an appendical attack which developed into peritonitis. At the time of his death, Allen was Station Master at Crystal Brook which is just south of Port Pirie. Elsie and Allen had one child, Helen Clezy Deane, who was just a little girl when her father died."
