George was born in 1915. He was the son of Lee Deen and Phoebe Arbuthnot.
He lived with his parents and siblings in Coffee, Georgia, United States.
George married Fannie Louise Harkleroad on 11 June 1932 at Baxley, Appling, Georgia, United States.
They had at least four children:
- Phoebe Ella (1933–2019)
- Colline (1935–2008)
- Ottis Lee (1937–1995)
- Jenny Lee (1953–1953)
He passed away in 1973 at the age of 58.
