R. H. Delamater was born in 1817. He passed away after 1880. R. H. Delamater is noted as being a "radical abolitionist" in his village of Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY. He is also noted as being the owner of Delamater's drugstore in three different ads in "Rumsey's Companion" newspaper, also listed in a 25 year newspaper remembrance piece of Dryden Herald newspaper, and again on May 9th, 1900
It was announced that R.H. opened a new shop, one door down from his drug store, to manufacture carriages, wagons and sleighs. This ad appeared in Dryden News on 7/8/1858.

A liberal share of patronage is respectfully solicited. A general assortment of Patent Medicines kept constantly on hand.
R.H. Delamater is listed as owner of an oyster saloon, where he also sold pickled pigs feet, drugs and medicine in Dryden Weekly News, dated only 1859.
