Biography

John was born in 1871, probably in the Motueka area, the son of James Delany and Martha Delany.[1]

He ran the Ngatimoti Butter Factory in conjunction with his father, James Delany. They made butter from their own herd of 26 cows and also separated milk for other farmers.[2]

John Delany married Claris Snowden in 1899.[3]

He passed away aged 28 in 1899 at Ngatimoti.[4]. He is buried in plot 61 at Waiwhero Cemetery.[5] His will leaves all his property to his wife, Claris.[6]
