Biography
Jean Baptiste Démarais was born and baptized on 25 Oct 1820 in Immaculée-Conception parish in Saint-Ours, Bas-Canada. He was the son of Paul Desmarais, farmer, and Marie Anne Dumas of this parish. Sponsors at Jean Baptiste's baptism were Jean Baptiste Plouf and Marguerite ___; neither sponsor signed the register.
At age 20 Jean Baptiste married Luce Charbonneau on 11 Jan 1851 in Saint-Jude parish in Saint-Hyacinthe. There were 10 known children born into this marriage.
Jean Baptiste Démarais died before 1920.
