(1928). PERSONAL. The Melbourne University has conferred the degree of Master of Civil Engineering upon Mr. Marsden G. Dempster, who was educated at the Guildford Grammar School, where he won a scholarship which enabled him to take the degree of Bachelor of Engineering with honours at the West Australian and Melbourne Universities. Mr. Dempster is now engineer for designing bridges, chiefly in reinforced concrete, for the Country Roads Board of Victoria.


(1952). PERSONAL. Mr. Marsden G. Dempster, M.E., will attend a meeting of the Bridge and Structural Society in London about the end of July as Federal Engineer of Housing and Public Works. Mr. Dempster was educated at Guildford Grammar School where he won a scholarship. Later he won the highest degrees in engineering at the W.A. and Melbourne Universities. In Victoria he designed and built many bridges, including one over the turbulent Snowy River and the traffic bridge at Port Melbourne. For three and a half years he was chief engineer for military construction under General MacArthur.
