Mr. Denno was born in Glenn Falls, N.Y., on July 4, 1846, a son of the late Theodore and Constance Denno. His father was a French-man, his mother an American. Later he was "the Village Lamp Lighter of Whitestone," the only one who ever filled that position, and as such he passed out of the village employ into that of the Highway Department of Queens Borough in 1898.
