Biography

Sarah (Denton) Edgar was born in Bedfordshire, England.

Sarah was born during the summer of 1891, in Luton Bedfordshire, England, to Charles Denton and Hannah Marlow. ^[1]

At the time of the 1901 census, Sarah was recorded as being 9 years and living with her Father, Charles Denton (36), a Railway labourer, Mother, Hannah Denton (36), a Straw Hat Sewer, sisters Jane (11) and Emma (7) and brothers Charles (4) and James (6 months). They were residing at 3 Park Road West, Luton, Bedfordshire. ^[2]

When the 1911 census was taken, Sarah, now 19 years, was working as a Cartoon Box Maker in the Straw industry, She was single and still living with her parents, Charles, (47), a labourer blacksmith for Midland Railway, Hannah (Annie), (47), a hat machinist in the straw trade, Sisters Emma (17), also a Cartoon Box Maker in the Straw Trade, and Ellen (5), and brothers James (9) and Henry (7). They were now residing at 47 Burr Street, Luton, Bedfordshire.^[3]

In the last quarter of 1911, Sarah married Arthur Coote in Luton, Bedfordshire. ^[4]

Sarah was left to raise their 4 children, when Arthur sadly passed away in 1927.

During the final months of 1929, in Luton Bedfordshire, Sarah married Richard Edgar. ^[5]

In 1930, Sarah gave birth to their daughter Jessie D Edgar.

The 1939 register shows Sarah living with Richard, Jessie, Celia and Harry at 40 Farley Hill, Luton, Bedfordshire.^[6]

Sarah passed away in 1968, in Luton, Bedfordshire.^[7]
