In 1840, Lannon, a free person of color, was living alone in Ripley County, Missouri.[1]
The 1850 Census shows Lannon as born in Virginia. He was living on the farm of David Smith in Ripley County.[2]
In the 1860 census Lonnen F Dinwedy (age 60), Cigar Maker, was in Carter, Carter, Missouri living on his own.[3]
In the 1870 census Lannon (age 70), Farmer, was in Carter, Carter, Missouri. [4]
Research Notes
Up until 1870, all Census records show Lannon living alone. The 1870 Census shows him living with numerous other persons, inferred wife Pollie. It is possible that the family joined him after emancipation. Further research required.
