Benjamin and Susannah are buried side-by-side in unmarked graves at Peachtree Memorial Baptist in Murphy, Cherokee County, North Carolina.

Occupation: Farmer; Whiskey maker, Operated a government still - Benjamin and Susannah had marital problems which resulted in moving the still upstream above a waterfall. Here he erected a log hut for himself and became totally consumed in his whiskey making. [10]

Where was Benjamin in 1860? His wife Susannah was living with their son Alexander but I've not found Benjamin on the 1860
