Biography

Conrad was born in 1903. He was the son of Conrad Deubler and Emilie Stutheit. He passed away in 1989.

Conrad was born at Johnson, Nemaha, NE. he was one of 10 children. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church by his father. He remained a member of that church all of his life. He received his education in the Johnson schools.

On February 26, 1933, he was united in marriage to Clara Steinhoff in Syracuse, NE. They were to live almost of all their married life on farms northwest of Johnson. Five children were born to this marriage. Conrad served on the church council, was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood and sang in the choir for many years. He also served on the Cherry Grove rural school board and was a member of the Johnson Senior Citizens.

His wife, Clara died Sept. 17, 1971. Conrad continued to live on the farm until 1979 when he moved into Johnson. For a few years after he had quit farming, he worked for the county. He entered Lincoln General Hospital May 22 for surgery. He suffered a heart attack while in the hospital and it was there he died June 12, 1989, having reached the age of 86 years and 19 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one brother and four sisters. He is survived by his five children; Arvin of Auburn, KS, Mrs. Vince Ullman of Roca, Mrs. Don Ullman of Lincoln, Maurice of Waverly and Mrs. Larry Pasco of Davey; also by 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. 3 sisters, Nora and Emma Deubler and Ottilie Lorenz, all of Johnson; a brother, Gerhard Deubler of Wichita, KS. other relatives and many friends.

Funereal services were held June 15 at Zion Lutheran Church, north of Johnson, conducted by Rev. Wayne Josephson.

Gary Ullman, Michael Ullman, James Ullman, Allen Ullman, Daniel Ullman and Milton Lorenz were pallbearers. Catherine Marsh, Janel Ewert, Shari Pasco, Becky Pasco, Nicole Deubler and Diane Deubler were honorary pallbearers. Gertrude Rosenbohm was organist and Mrs. Milton Lorenz, soloist. Burial was in the church cemetery.
