Research Notes

This Mary is not conclusively know, but DNA matches are making it very likely that this Mary is a James, d. Of James James of Welsh Newton. Oddly, she married John Harris at Pipe and Lyde. Mary Devereux also fits the chronology and location it she rings no DNA bells! It seems that she has a brother Robert. There are graves at Welsh Newton in close proximity that are surely related. Would like to know if there is a link to John James of Hentland or David James of Womaston. There are circumstantial hints that this is possible in Wills, land and tax records.
