Elizabeth (Dexter) Mowbray was born in Leicestershire, England.
Elizabeth Dexter was born about 1823 and baptised on 2 May 1825 in Shepshed, Leicestershire, England. She was the daughter of Thomas (a framework knitter) and Ann. She passed away before 1851.

Elizabeth Dexter, a minor of Sheepshed was married to Thomas Mowbray of full age, resident of Sheepshed and the son of John Mowbray on 14 May 1843 in Shepshed, Leicestershire, England. John Hillier and Anna Clarkson were witnesses, T C Price, Curate officiated. Interestingly despite Elizabeth being a minor, there was no parent named on the marriage certificate. Thomas, John and Elizabeth's professions were given as framework knitter. Banns were read for three weeks commencing 19th March 1843.

Elizabeth Mowbray died age 28 and was buried in Shepshed on 21st January 1851.
