"In Memory of Rev. Clayton T. Dilworth April 24, 1921 - April 5, 2012 Obituary

Rev. Clayton T. Dilworth died peacefully on April 5, 2012, at the age of 90 in Tacoma WA. His beloved wife of 62 years, Dolly Dilworth, died in 2005. He was born in Buena Vista, TX. He was raised in Modesto, CA on a dairy farm. In his youth he excelled at long distance running and raising and judging livestock. Rev. Dilworth, after obtaining his Theology degree from Aurora College in Illinois, moved to Santa Cruz, CA in 1949 and served as the pastor at Santa Cruz Advent Christian Church for 10 years. In 1960, Pastor Dilworth left for Savannah, GA and Berea, SC Advent Christian Churches to serve over 8 years. The Dilworth's relocated to Washington where they worked for 15 years as house-parents and counselors for troubled teens. In 1984 he and wife Dolly returned to Santa Cruz to serve in the church he began in 1949. After Dolly died, he moved to Tacoma, WA to spend his last years in a retirement complex. He made many friends and enjoyed being close to extended family. He is survived by sons Richard Dilworth and wife Victoria of Eugene, OR, and David Dilworth and wife Lucille of Vaughn, WA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Lobb; and best friend Laura."
