Biography

Benjamin Dodge was born 19 March 1784.[1]

He married Elizabeth Woodward.[1] They made their home in in Mount Hope, Orange County, New York.[2] They had the following children[1][3]:

  1. Eleanor J Dodge, b. 19 Dec 1808, d. 19 Nov 1870, m. John Conkling
  2. Algernon Sidney Dodge, b. Oct 1810, d. 11 Aug 1880, m. Sarah Ann Loomis
  3. William H Dodge, b. 9 Feb 1813, d. 3 Feb 1888
  4. Clara Ann Dodge, b. 25 Nov 1814, d. 20 Apr 1893, m. Augustus Porter Thompson

Benjamin died on 27 April 1842.[1] He is buried at Mount Hope Plains Cemetery, Otisville, Orange County, New York.[1]

Dodge died at Otisville on the night of August 11th… He was born in Mount Hope, this county in October 1810 and was the son of Benjamin Dodge. One brother survives him, William H. Dodge of Mount Hope. Mrs. A. P. Thompson of Port Jervais is a sister of the deceased, as also was the wife of Dr. John Conkling. Mr. Dodge married a daughter of Dr. Loomis, deceased, of Otisville, who survives him.
