Obituary.
Austin Dodge was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, in 1824. In 1840 he with his father and the others of the family, came to this county, settling in the Dority neighborhood, they being the first ones to locate there. Of the family six survive: Eliza, Jane, William, Daniel, Hiram and Cephas A., while three are dead. When about twenty-one he was married to Sarah Lewis, and was the father of ten children, four of whom are dead.
For many years he was a member of the Methodist church, but some years ago he changed his church relation, and ever after affiliated with the Evangelical till his death. He had been in ill health for two or three years, but was able to do some work until about six months ago, when he began decline perceptibly. He died on Thursday, March 13th, 1890, and was buried on Saturday, the 15th, in the old Dodge cemetery on G. H. Sisler’s farm.
