Farmer, section 15, post-office Westport, was born May 15, 1829 in Cambria county, PA and was reared there as a farmer. He immigrated to this county in 1865, and settled on the land he now occupies, and he has been identified with the interests of this county since. He owns a fine farm of 80 acres, most of which is udner cultivation. He has been twice married; first to Harriet Bernett, on the 9th of January 1867. She was a ntive of this county and died on the 9th of June, 1877, and left a family of three children: Benjamin, Rufus and Rosa. He was married again to Miss Isabella Rule on the 23 of July 1879. She is a native of Colorado, and was born in 1861. By this union they have one child, David.

During the researches of the author, a Griffith Dodson was found in Qinton, Douglas County Kansas, who stated that his father's name was Michael, and that he and his wife were born in the Allegheny mountain region of West Virginia; maiden name of his wife was Belle, and that they had six sons.

The Dodson's I have been tracing may be connected to your Dodsons. Griffith Dodson (Griffith may really be his middle name and his first name may be Edward) and a brother William lived in Jackson Co. Mo from about 1865 to maybe 1900. They had farms near each other. There is a book "History of Jackson Co. Mo" published in 1881 that gives some info. on them but some of it is not all correct. I am mainly looking for Griffith since he was my gg-grandfather. I have found him in the 1870 Mo-St.Lewis Census with wife Harriet. In the Cambria Co. Pa Census of 1860 he is listed with wife Eliza C. In 1850 Canbria Co Census Pa he is listed as living with Michael Dodson 73yrs old and Catherine Dodson 49yrs. Griffith is listed as 21yrs. Griffith is said to have burried 2 wives in Jackson Co. before marrying Bell Rule. William Dodson was married to Sarah Jane O'Connor. I would like to know relationship of Griffith to Michael and Michael to Catherine. Michael was born in Maryland.
