Biography

Dillingham Dodson was born the 27th of March 1820 in Jasper County, Georgia. Dillingham was the son of Armstead Dodson and Nancy Creel.

Dillingham, age 30 appears in the 1850 Federal census in DeSoto County, Mississippi in the household of Francis Blocker. Dillingham's occupation is given as "Overseer".^[1]

Dillingham married Matilda Reed on the 2nd of December 1856.^[2]

Dillingham appears in the 1860 Federal census in Marshall County, Mississippi. Dillingham's household appears as follows: Dillingham age 40; Matilda age 25; Dora age 4; and Marcellus age 1.^[3]
