Christina Barbara Donner was born about 1756, married Johannes Bantzer at the German Reformed Church in Philadelphia in 1778 and came to Virginia soon after. They took up residence in Berkeley County and she was mother of at least three children. Barbara either passed away about 1794 or it is possible that she was abandonned by her husband about that time and took her children to Shenandoah County. That would explain the alienation of Barbara's children from their father.
