Biography

Johann Doose has German Roots.

Johann was born in 1875 in Malente, Schleswig-Holstein. He was the son of Johann Doose and Johanna Erich. He married Emma Schroeder, who died in about 1920. Johann passed away in 1966 in Hohenfelde, Plön, Schleswig-Holstein.

The paper trail is sparse. As a widower, Johann raised his granddaughter, Emma Dose, the daughter of Johann's daughter Kathe Wilhemina Dose. As a teenager, Emma joined her mother and stepfather in Canada, where she married, had children and passed away. Emma knew very little to pass on to her children and grandchildren. Based on that limited information, her family built a family tree, that is still based primarily on speculation.

Those descendants are in the DNA Circle for Johann's grandparents that matches with present day Doose's - sometimes spelled Dose or Dohse.
