On 17 June 1875 at Bansha R.C. chapel, he married Johanna Dwyer of Curraghavoke, daughter of James Dwyer (farmer, deceased). Witnessed by Mary O'Dwyer and Patrick Cuishen(sp?)
[3]
The couple emigrated to New Zealand shortly after marrying; their first child was born at Blenheim in October 1876.
He passed away 3 February 1932 age 80 at Wairau Hospital, Blenheim, and is buried at Omaka Cemetery.

Research Notes
James Joseph Doran 1893-1918
Find A Grave: Memorial #12158858 is for "James Joseph Doran" son of this couple born 14 June 1875, dying 21 November 1917 in France, citing birth registration James Doran, 1875, Tipperary. This birth registration has parents Patrick Doran and Johanna Dwyer. However I am dubious about this because:
This was before the parents of this profile married, but the birth registration gives the mother as married.
The parents' townland on this birth registration is different to the parents' townlands on this profile's marriage 3 days later.
These parents have another son James born 1878 in NZ (dies young) then 1882 NZ (dies young also), and it basically never happened to name a child the same name as a child still living.
NZ death registration 1918/73996 Doran James Joseph 24Y (21 Nov 1917) suggests birth year 1893, not 1875.
Archives New Zealand: R20997990 DORAN, James Joseph - WW1 44263 - Army born 1893, dies 21 Nov 1917 so must be the same person as this NZ death registration. However his registration details say: born in Hastings NZ; parents James from County Wexford, and Kathleen.
In light of this evidence, tt seems to me that:
WW1 44263 is clearly not the son of Patrick Doran and Johanna (O')Dwyer.
This 1875 birth registration is likely to be a different child with coincidentally same named parents -- I have seen many cases of this in Irish research over the years. Another possibility could be a pre-marital child to the same parents with a false declaration on the birth registration, and died young.

↑ Age 80 on death registration suggests 1852; although the certificate also states married at age 25 and the marriage was in 1875.
