Biography
Nora (Dore) Fox was a centenarian, living to age 104.
With great sadness the family of Nora E. Fox announces her passing on October 31, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Southampton, NB on June 26, 1915 to the late William and Beryl (Haines) Dore, she lived in the community her whole life. She married in 1932 to the late Lloyd Fox (1910-1986).
Nora was a member of the L.O.B.A., a life member of the Women’s Institute (member since 1946), a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Southampton Legion Branch 27, and a longtime member and thirteen year President of the Nackawic Silver Stars Senior Citizens Group.
She will be remembered for her enjoyment of travelling, going to auctions, knitting, quilting and playing cards. Her quilts are cherished by the many family and friends who possess them. Nora was a fabulous cook and cooked in the woods camps for a number of years. She and her late husband operated Fox Farms Bed & Breakfast for many years during the 70’s and 80’s. Family and friends were important to her and she will be greatly missed by all.
