It is at this point in the history of the Doty family that we read the first recorded accounts of living memories. Ethan Allan Doty in his book makes reference to statements by persons alive at the time of his research. Mrs. Phebe Mosher, daughter of Steven Doty reported that Charles Doty was not a member of the Quaker Meeting, although he attended when he attended anywhere. She remembered him and said he was quite aged when he died, probably 70 or 80. She recalls she was about 5 years old at the time.
