Biography
Alexander Dougan was born about 1826 in Scotland, probably Leswalt, Wigtownshire based on his siblings. His parents were William and Janet Dougan.[1]
In the 1841 Scotland census, Alexander was living with his parents and siblings at Sochton Mill in Colmonell, Ayrshire, Scotland. His father was a miller.[1]
Alexander is not listed with the family in the 1851 census; he would have been 24 years old.
