Biography

Helen was born in 1893. She was the daughter of Montagu Douglas and Helen Downer.

She graduated with a LLCM (Music).

Helen married Geoffrey Bernard Douglas-Pulleyne (son of Benjamin Collett Pulleyne) on 15 April 1920 at Port Blair, Bengal, India.[1]

They had one son.

Mrs. Douglas-Pulleyne was my very special art and music teacher in Salisbury, Rhodesia from about 1962 to about 1967. Her home with the attached Rosa Mystica studio was on Central Ave to the east of the city centre and was a reflection of her heritage and personal artworks. Afternoon tea was an occasion with the accompanying plate of delicious scones and sandwiches. I treasure her watercolour painting of the foothills of the Himilayas that she gave to my mother some 60 years ago.
