Biography
When Martha Ellen Dowell was born on May 22, 1851, in Kentucky, her father, John, was 22, and her mother, Ann, was 24. She married Samuel Burge Calvert in 1875. She died on October 8, 1949, in Adolphus, Kentucky, at the age of 98, and was buried there.
