Biography
Eliza Jane "Jennie" was born in Beachville, Ontario, the daughter of Zina Downs and Abigail Youngs. She was baptized on Sept. 1, 1850. [1]
Eliza Jane is listed with her parents and siblings in the 1851/52 census for Oxford, Ontario. She was 12 years old. [2]
She married Daniel W. Beamer about 1855 (based on the birth of her first child).
Jennie and Daniel had 3 sons - Alfred, William and George.
Jennie died on Jan. 7, 1872 in Detroit. Death record shows incorrectly that she was born in Germany. [3] Her death was just 3 months after the birth of her 3rd son. She was 32 years old. She is buried in the family plot in Woodmere cemetery in Detroit. [4]
