Beverly Drinkard was born on 17 February 1793 in Charles City County, Virginia to William Rollerson Drinkard and Mary Cocke. He married Elizabeth Ann Cosby on 1 February 1817; they had 9 children. Beverly and his family owned slaves over the course of several decades. After his wife's death, he married Jane Rolfe on 2 November 1865. Beverly died on 1 December 1875 in Petersburg, Virginia.[1] He is buried at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg.[2]

1860: Beverly Drinkard is enumerated in Petersburg, Virginia. He is 67 years old. His real estate is valued at $5000 and his personal estate is valued at $3000.[8]
1870: Beverly Drinkard is enumerated in Petersburg, Virginia. He is 71 years old and is a retired merchant. He lives with his wife, Jane, and 2 step-daughters (Jane's daughters from her previous marriage). His personal estate is valued at $100, and his real estate is valued at $1800.[9]
