Biography
Benjamin P. Duckworth was born in Mississippi to Joseph Duckworth and Mary Green.[1][2][3]
Benjamin served as a witness for the State in Smith County, Mississippi Circuit Court in the case of The State of Mississippivs. Robert Blakeney et.al. in March of 1858 and received $3.00 reimbursement for traveling 30 miles to attend the hearing.[4]
Married c.1860 to Cassandra Craft.
Benjamin appears on the 1872 Land Tax List for Smith County, Mississippi as follows:
Duckworth, B. P. - 240 acres described as the SE 1/4 and the E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 26 in Township 10 Range 15 West.[5]
Duckworth, B.P. - 180 acres described as Lots 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 in Section 35 of Township 10, Range 15 West.[6]
He served in the Civil War in Company G, 37th Ms. Infantry, CSA.
He is buried in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, Taylorsville, Smith County, Mississippi.[7]
