Biography

Eleanor May Duggan was born on January 13, 1881 in Barclay, Bradford, Pennsylvania, United States, daughter of William H. Duggan (1850–1925) and Minnie May Hughes (1858–1935).[1] [2][3]

Eleanor (18) married Floyd Hasky Wight (22) (born on August 10, 1877 in Wellsville, Allegany, New York, United States) on December 25, 1899 in Bradford. Their children were:

In 1909 the Bradford City Directory[4] shows Eleanor and Floyd resident at 48 Sanford Street, Bradford. They are still there for the 1910 Census[3], and for the 1913 Bradford City Directory.

An article in the McKean County Miner had petitioned for a divorce from Floyd, 3 November 1919. The notice was of a court date in June 1920 for a hearing on the divorce. The divorce became final between that June hearing and Clyde's remarriage in April of 1921. Floyd is listed as married to Iva June in the Munroe LA census for 1920. He is still listed as married and a resident of Bradford as well.

In 1920, Eleanor was living in Bradford Ward 4, McKean, Pennsylvania. [5]. Her brother, Harry was living in the household.

In the 1930 Census, Elinor is shown as owning her house, valued at $7000. Her household includes a daughter, Naiomi, a son Clyde O and Clyde's wife, Alverta M. [6]

In Dec of 1932 Eleanor is mentioned in the marriage annoucement of her daughter Naomi. [7] She is also mentioned in the obituary of her mother in 1935.[8]

In 1940 and 1950 Census returns, Eleanor was living on Sanford Street in Bradford, McKean. [9] [10]

Eleanor died on November 9, 1953 in Bradford, aged 72. She is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Bradford, McKean, Pennsylvania.[11] [12][13]
