Joshua Dunbar was born about 1860 in Louisiana, son of Edmund and Amelia Dunbar. It is unknown if he was ever married to his son Joshua's mother, Betsy Coleman. Betsy may have been a relative of Joshua's stepfather Louis Coleman.
